The research Network ‚Postcolonial Hierarchies in Peace and Conflict‘ held its 4th ThinkLab on 18th April 2024, hosted by the Centre for Conflict Studies Marburg. The aim of the Think Lab was to reflect on our progress halfway through the project. While we appreciate opportunities to learn from the invited guest speakers as the Network did previously, this ThinkLab focused on learning from one another and from the rich variety of research conducted within the project on theoretical, methodological, and empirical levels.

Members of the network were invited to reflect on the research that has taken place in the last two years and to critically engage with it. To facilitate this exchange, we asked every institution to prepare 2-3 presentations about ongoing research within the Network. This involved the research conducted by Principle Investigators, Postdoctoral Researchers or current PhD researchers alike. Each presentation by a fellow Network member lasted for 10 minutes and touched upon their research questions, empirical focus, or methodological approach. The goal of this exchange was to facilitate cross-fertilization of ideas and knowledge. The presentations were divided into three panels around the themes of actors, ontologies, and strategies. The Think Lab allowed us to gain greater depth into the richness of contexts studied as well as theoretical, methodological, and multidisciplinary lenses within the Network and foster more collaborations in the next two years of the project.

Previously held ThinkLabs examined the themes of ‚hierarchies,‘ ‚postcolonialism,‘ and knowledge production.
